What we think about the Maori gods

WALHT: write to describe how nga Atua maori relates to us.

On Wednesday Huia whanau was learning about all the different Maori gods. It was very fun and interesting.

There is 6 important  Maori gods that we learnt about here are some  what they relate to and what they are the god of.

 [ YELLOW ]
Rongo-ma-tane - [shows peace and happiness], God of kumara and all cultivated foods.

[ ORANGE ]
Maui- [is cheeky and hoha], The god of the sun and sea.

[ PURPLE ]
Ruaumoko- [is annoyed - fustrated], God of earthquakes and volcanoes.

[ RED ]
Tumatauenga - [is angry and fuming], God of war.

[ LIGHT BLUE ]
Tawhirimatea - [has no control and is lost], God of wind and storms.

[ DARK BLUE ]
Tangaroa - [do over and likes to start again], God of the sea, rivers, lakes and all that live within them.

We played a game where Miss Fleet put down all the Maori gods and asked us a question like what we think of maths or what we think of this, then we had to go to the maori god that we thought we related to.
After that we learnt a song  the song was if you happy and you know it in maori Miss Fleet also taught us the actions then we taught Tui whanau the song and actions.

  1. Hello Kylah

I like that you used a bold title for the colours. Did you enjoy the song and did you like choosing the god you felt? What god do you feel like now?
