For Maths this week one of my tasks was to make a quiz about what I did this week and it was adding decimals. I used a new sight to make my quiz and it is called Quizlet it is very good and I reccomend it for any quiz you are making.

Spelling Term 1

This term I have worked really hard to get 10/10 every week for spelling. As you can see I have got 10/10 every week and I am very proud of myself. One thing I have done well is worked so hard at home to get all ticks in my boxes! , and I don't think I have much to improve on. Hopefully I do as well next term.

Sailing Experience

 Yesterday (22 March 2021) the year 7 & 8s went out to Taipa for a sailing experience. It was so much fun. When we arrived we went through a few rules and instructions and got split into 2 groups. My group (group 1) went first for sailing. We quickly put our togs on and then got geared up with a life jacket.We walked down to the beach with excitement. The instructors gave us a bit of a lesson of how to stear the sail in the direction you want to go it was a bit strange because if you wanted to turn right you had to turn the searing left and if you wanted to go left you had to turn the searing right, she also taught us how to work the sail. We had to get into pairs I went with my friend Peyton, then we were AWAY.  All our sail boats got attached together so we could get pulled out by a little boat with a motor. When we got dragged out in the deep bit of the ocean we all got separated it was pretty scary then the parents and instructors set us a fun task, the parents & instructors through out into the water coloured balls and we had to get them with out getting out of our boats i'm pretty sure Peyton and I got 16 balls. After that activity we got Capsized, getting capsized was definitely the funnest thing if you don't know what capsizing is it is when your sail gets flipped over and you have to flip it back over it was fun because in the middle of capsizing we had a bit of a swim around. After the fun it was time to  attache the sails back together and go back into shore. It was a great experience and I would love to do it again.

Meanwhile on shore there was even more activity's one of my favourite activity's was a tying knots one I'll explain how it works.                                                                                                                                        First of all you had a laminated sheet of paper with instructions on how to do the activity. On the table you had a whole bunch of rope and knots that have all ready been done just for you to have a look at. I managed to get one knot and it was the figure 8 knot. There were four more activity's but that one was my favourite. 

Over all I think it was very fun, exciting and interesting to learn about sailing. It was definitely a great experience. Thank you Mr Acton for taking us on this amazing trip I would love to do it again.

A leader I respect is our prime minister Jacinda Adern because she shows everything a leader should show. She respects everyone even if they have done something wrong. She's responsible with all the tasks she is given and she also listens to everyone, There ideas, opinions and ways to make our country better.

Goal Setting Term One

 1. Knowing all my times tables.

2. Listening to all instructions my teacher gives me.

3. Not being afraid of speaking in-front of my class.

4. Doing all my chores by 6:00pm.

I think I have the strength to be able to achieve my goals I have given myself. If I keep working hard and having believe in myself I will eventually get there. The most important goal I want to achieve is knowing all of my times tables, (I'm pretty week at my times tables) but that is fine I'll get better.

How To Solve Multi-Digit Multiplication Equations

WALT: use place value strategies to solve multi-digit and division equations.
 

Today Ella,Arie and I had to do a maths poster, we used google draw to make our poster, out poster had to explain how to solve multi-digit multiplication equations. Its pretty easy when you start to get the hang of it .

If the equation was 64 x 9 = 

You would have to take the 4 out of 60 so it makes 60 then times the 60 x 9 which equals 54 then times the 4 from the 60 with the 9, 4 x 9 =36

then add up 54 + 36 =90 then you got your answer.
